Sarracenia x areolata is a naturally occurring hybrid of S. leucophylla and S. alata that combines the tall elegant pitchers of S. alata with the unforgettable white tops of S. leucophylla.
S. x areolata "Fall's Phantom" is a stellar manifestation of these combined traits. Much like its S. leucophylla parentage it's really at its best in late summer and fall when it produces tons of tall creamy white topped pitchers that stand like ghosts in the night. A very reliable, beautiful, and distinct pitcher plant.
