Our Drosera filiformis (Thread-leaved Sundew) are now dormant for the 2024 growing season. This species forms hibernacula (resting buds) during dormancy and can still be purchased and safely shipped.
We're very pleased to offer this hauntingly beautiful North American Sundew to our inventory.
Drosera filiformis has stunning thread-like leaves covered in a deadly dewy nectar with a mesmerizing glow. The trichomes (hairs) on the leaves of this sundew will wrap around insect prey. Once mature D. filiformis produces clusters of long dewy leaves that will attract, capture, and digest innumerable flies, midges, and even small wasps.
Being a North American temperate sundew during winter, D. filiformis will die back and form a tight resting bud at soil level. D. filiformis may die entirely if left exposed to prolonged freezing temperates, so good winter dormancy protection is essential. New growth will emerge in the spring.
Beautiful seed grown plants (8-10 cm) tall for sale.
